Señorita El Salvador de New Jersey prides itself in diffusing Salvadoran culture and promoting a high sense of self-esteem among young Salvadoran/Salvadoran-American girls. Each contestant not only represents her departamento through her beauty, but also with intelligence and grace.
Aside from modeling, part of the training that each contestant receives includes a speech and history of El Salvador component since she will be judged on a speech that details the history of her departamento. We believe that in addition to having the opportunity to practice Spanish and learn history, public speaking is a very useful skill for a young person to develop. Contestants also receive a movement and dance class to stay fit for the pageant and be able to present a choreography the day of the pageant.
For the last eight years, Miss El Salvador New Jersey has been honored with an invitation to participate in the Patron Festivals of August in San Salvador as well as cultural and civic events in New Jersey.
We are currently taking applications for contestants, please contact our Artistic Director, Adrienne Dominguez. |
